Navathri - “Nava” meaning 9 and “Rathri” meaning nights is a celebration of Goddess Shakti. During these 9 nights, different forms of the deity are celebrated on specific days. The 9th and 10th days used to be special with the celebration of Saraswati Pooja and Vijayadasami ( or Dussera). Different families have a slightly different customs and fasting rituals according to which they prepare the recipes.
